THE HUNT CLUB STEEPLECHASES.
The South Canterbury Hunt Club held a Steeplechase Meeting at Saltwater Creek on Thursday, when, considering the wretched weather, the attendance was very good. The arrangements were very good and the office bearers carried out their duties most satisfactorily. Results : Maiden Steeplechase, of 15 sovs ; weight for age ; about 2 miles. Miss M. Allen's g g Blue Boy, aged 12st 31b (Cornelius) 1 Mr T. Hamlyn'B Kingsborough, aged 12s 31b (Dunn) 2 Mr J. D. Mee's ch g Chevy, 12st 31b, (Mee), and Mr P. Wareing's b g Rodney, 12st 31b, (A. Cox), also started. Totalizator, £2l; dividend, £1 13s. Hunt Club Cup, of 40 sovs., second 5 sovs; about 2J miles. Mr J. Shaw's ch g Iroquois, aged, 12st (Allen) 1 Mr Clarkson's b g Glen, aged, 12st 12lb (Murray-Aynsley) 2 Mr Wynn-Williasra*' b g Lewis, aged, 12st21b (Owner) 3 Mr E. C.
