The Convocation ef Cardinals is considering what further steps should be taken with regard to Irish affairs. His Holiness the Pope, having considered the arguments admiced by the Home Rulers, who alleged that he was misinformed as to the facts in Ireland, has decided to enforce his recent Decree,
His Holiness the Pope has directed Persico to obtain the views of the Irish bishops respecting the Decree,

The Decree of His Holiness the Pope was not read in many of the Irish chapels to-day.

ference. The priests dissented from Mr Dillon’s views,

Freeman’s Journal has published; a statement to the effect that in the csurse of an interview with a reporter at Sydney Cardinal Moran declared that the Irish ought t» disregard the commands ot the Pope if they interfere with the Nationalist movement, and that the agitation for Home Rule must be continued until the autonomy of Ireland is secured.
