A coursing meeting was held on the Baukapuka estate on Thursday last, and proted to be a most enjoyable outing. The weather was all that could be wished for, and a good numbar of persons were present, including several ladies. Many •f the visitors came out from Timaru by the early train. The arrangements made by the promoters of the meeting were about perfect, the result being that those present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Mr Charteris proved an efficient judge) Mr B. Bayley, in the absence of Mr B. E. Hibbard, acting as flag steward, while Mr A. H. Brisco performed the duties of slipper in his usual first class manner. Lunch was provided in the field by host R, Taylor, and proved most acceptable at the conclusion of the first round of the All-Aged Stakes. A good many of the trials were interfered with by dogs breaking loose and joining in the chase. The owners of such dogs were fined £lin each case, which it is hoped will cause them to be more careful in the future. The following are the results ; Geraldine Au-Asbs Stakes, for If dogs, at £2 2s each. Winner, £l9 10s; runner-up, £9 18s ; third and fourth-dogs, £2 2s each, less lb per cent. First Course.

F*nella aod Rockhampton bad a good trial with a small but good running hare. Rockhampton led up snd turner), letting in Fenella, who then did most of the work, Rockhampton only getting in a point or two more before the hare got through the fence, when, both dogs jumping, Fenella killed on the other side. Cora Lymi aad Mis* Taylor were next handed to the slipper. The latter led her companion from a good slip, and pat together a few points, when the dog came again, but by driving too heavily once or twice spoilt his chance, Miss Taylor getting in aad securing a first. Red line led frpm the slips, and did splendid work all through, scarcely giving his companion .a show to more, and winning easily. ■ From a long slip a splendid course took p j aoe between Beach and Jim, the flag eventually going up for Beach, who worked grandly. Fair-eyed Susan and Snow had a long and splendid course, some really good give-and-take work done, the former eventually winning. :Od leaving the slips wiih ► Silvermine, Deception became unsighted, but soon picked up the running, and

another long and gruelling trial look place, ' Deception placing the win to her credit. Owing to her Ist* accident, Mr 1. Adams’s blk and w b Lady oeafield was not oil' the ground. Concrete ran an accidental bye with Mr Power’s Jim. An excellent course , between Belfast and Forsake-mc-not was spoilt by another dog joining in the chase. B-dfast, however, won the course, and the owner of ths dog that joined in was fined £l. Second Course.

Mina Taylor beat Fenella Snow boat Deception Belfast beat Concrete Red Pino ran a byp. A long and good trial took place between Feneila and Miss Taylor, the latter being somewhat teo good for her companion. Bench having broken one of bic toe hie owner decided to withdraw bin. - Third Course. Misa Taylor beat Red Pine Snow beat Belfast. Final Course. Mr Oapstiok’a f b Miss Taylor, by Taraban—Miss Ridley, baat Mr B. Bayley’s w d Snow, by Ballarat—Colleen, and won the stake.

Mahoney’s b d Gladstone. Mr S. Nutt’s blk and w d Barrister beat Mr T. Mahoney’s b and w d Doric. Mr S. Surmsn’s f and bdl d Seignior beat Mr P. Stratford’s bdl b Daisy, Mr T. Alexander’s blk and w d Old Acquaintance beat Mr F« Worner’s b and w d Lone Jack. Mr D.M. Ross’r b Oerito ran a bye, . Mr Cannon's b and w d Impediment being withdrawn* Mr J. Cunningham’s r b Crescent ran a bye. A splsndid trial took place between -Lady Emma and Avon Bell, both dogs doing good work, the latter winning. ' Belfield and Beresford also had a long trial, Beresford going dewn. A no course between Gladstone and Yorkshire Lass followed, another owner being fined £1 lor letting a third dog ero. Another good coarse between Doric and Barrister was interfered in by a third dog and spoilt, the judge awarding the coarse to Barrister. Impediment and Cerito were next banded to Mr Connolly, A hare jumping .. np at a very long slip the dogs were not let go, but Impediment slipped his collar and ran a long course by hi rose f. Glad- . stone and Yorkshire Lass were now put . in and after a iuky course of which the latter had the best, the dogs got over the fence into the adjoining paddock, where Yorkshire Lass won. Seignior put down ■ ■ Daisy alter a good trial. Owing to the • gruelling Impediment had got by himself, it was wisely decided to withdraw him, Cerito thus secured a bye, apd.sbe and

| Crescent, the other dog entitled to the bye, ran them off together. Second Course. Avon Belle beat Bel field Barrister beat Yorkshire Liss Oerito beat Seignior Old Acquaintance beat Crescent. Third Course, Oerito beat Old Acquaintance Barrister ran a bye, Avon Belle being withdrawn. Final Course. Mr D. M. Ross’ r b Oerito, by King Quail—Minus, beat Mr S. Nutt’s blk and w d Barrister, by Bolero—Ronez, and won the stake.
