This meeting wag held at the Club's ground, Orari, yesterday, The weather in the morning was very threatening and but faint hopes were entertained of a fine day being secured. About 11 o'clock, however, the sun came out brilliantly, and the remainder of the day was all that could be wished for, The attendance of the public was not vary large, but a fair number from Tirnaru and elsewhere found their way to the grounds, lhe course was in really good order, considering the amount of wet we have experienced lately, but of course somewhat heavy, giving the strong horses an advantage. The Committee, as usual, bad made the most complete arrangements and eyerything passed off without a hitch, a result whip!) i§ in a great measure attrihuUble to the energy of the. Club's Sccn-tary, Mr H. B. Webstrr. One of Messrs Mason and Roberts' totalisators was upon the ground and put through £3O in £1 tickets.

Mr Armitage acted as and Mr Teachemuker us Jadge and .both gentlemen gave entire satisfaction in ibeir re'spepliye positions. The steeplechase course was an excellent Qne, and while being stiff enough to afford good racing was not so unreasonab'e as is 100 often the case. Going to the right of the grand etand the horses had to croes

a sod wall and ditch, The next jump was a gorso one into some seven chain of ploughed land, then back again and over a gorge jump on to the course, where two timber jumps had to be negotiated. Results :

This position they maintained till coming into the straight for the first time when Kingask came up to the mare. In this way they raced till reaching the far side of the course when Kingask took the lead. When entering the Btraigbt for the last time Borderman took tho lead, Kingask being second and Paisy last. Jumping into the ploughed field Secretary spurted and was answered by Moody who was well in hand, Faugh-a-ballagh tailing out. Entering tbe straight for the second time the three horses were separated by about two and a-half chains betwen each, Moodv being hard held. Passing the stand Moody was let out and drawing on the leador a splendid race ensued across the plough, Mood; taking the lead.
