Dunedin, Nov. 24. The Otago Agricultural aod Pastoral Association's Metropolitan Show this year was opened to-day and promises so far to be the best yet held. Horses aod cattle were judged to-day. the extra charge made, the attendance was fairly good. Following are the championship oertifi. cates Shorthorns—Best bull,of any age, E. Men love; beat cow or heifer of any age, J. Deans. Polled Angus—Best bull of- any age, N.Z. and A.L, Company; beat cow or heifer of any; age, N.Z. and A.L. Company. Ayrshires—Best bull of any age on ground, K, B. Ferguson ; best cow or heifer, A. and J. MacFrlaue. Alderneys—Best bull, Cadzow ; beat cow, John Mitchell. In sheep the special prize of £2O for the largest prizi taker was secured by the Hoi;-. M. Holmes. Mr Tesohemaker took the champion certificate for both ram and ewe in fine combing merinos, Mr Johnston taking the -.oertihoate for the best ewe in combing. A. Murdoch took both the championships for Leicester, and the Hon. Mr Holmes for Lincolns. In Southdowns G. G. Russell took the championship for runs of any ag and J, Deans for ewes. In fat sheep the principal prizes fell to S. Qarfortb. Nov. 25. The second day of the Otago A. and P. Association's Metropolitan Show was most successful, (he attendance being lnrgi-r than on any previous occasion. Sir J, Vogel was present during part of the day. The show of horses w.V excellent, and that of agricultural and dairy Ipcodnce better than usual, , The leaping contests and hunters' prizes were good, and parsed off without accident.
