BLUE RIBBON ARMY.

I A meeting of the B!u« Ribbon OmIroittM of Delegates was held at the Church of England Parsonage, Temuka, yesterday. The following raembara; were present-Rev. T. A Hamilton (President) in the chair, Messrs Cooper (Secretary), Russell (Treasurer), Lynch and Lucas. The Treasurer reported a balance in hand of £1 3s'Bd, the income since last meeting being as follows: - Credit balance, £1 2s sd; .collection on 11th June, lis 3d ; by cash for sale of books, 10s. Total, £2 3sSd. : ExpenditureHire of hall, £l. The " Literature " sub-Committee (under the management of Messrs Lucas and L. Rayner), reported that books, etc., had been cbtainad from the Otago Book Society to the amount of £3 17s 6d, and that u pale had been effected to the amount of £2 10s 3d. A number of flyleaf tracts had been distributed at the meetings gratis. Mr Russell proposed, Mr Lyncn seconded, and it was carried unanimously —" That a 'glorious- Blue Ribbon lea be held on Thursday, the 31st day of July." Mr Lynch moved that the admission to the tea and meeting be 2s for adults and 1b for children. This was seconded by Mr Cooper and carried nem. con. It was proposed by Mr Cooper, seconded by Mr Lucas, and carried : —" That a report of the progress of the movement cince its inauguration in June 1883, and also a balance sheet showing the income and expenditure during that period, be read at the meeting to be held after the tea."

It was agreed that 600 tickets should be procured by the Secretary. A conversation ensued with regard to a meeting at Winchester, and it was decided not to attempt an advance in that quarter until after the electioneering excitement had subsided.

The meeting adjourned till Thursday, 17th IDSt.
