MARKET CONFIDENT
INDUSTRIAL SHARES RISE
GOOD TRADING REPORTS
MUNICIPAL BORROWING
MUCH MONEY AVAILABLE
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m. London, June 22. Confident conditions prevail on the London Stock Exchange. An outstanding feature has been the strength, of industrial shares under the stimulus of a number of favourable factors, including good trading reports and the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s announcement of the £35,000,000 scheme for improving the London traffic service. ~ The gilt-edged market was adversely affected by the resumption of municipal borrowing, but the successful results of the issues by Manchester, Cardiff and Birkenhead of 3 per cent, loans at £95, all of which were heavily over-sub-scribed, showed there was much money awaiting investment, and British funds rallied well. New Zealand’s« conversion loan of £10,000,000 now at 5 per cent, is expected next week, but the terms have not been.divulged.
