TRAPPED UNDER WATER
DROWNED IN * MOTOR-CAR CRASH THROUGH BRIDGE RAILS. VICTIM SITTING IN BACK SEAT. TWO OTHERS ESCAPE LIGHTLY. By Telegraph—Press Association. • Auckland, Last Night. A motor-car driven by Charles Johns, Mount Eden, crashed into the railings of a bridge over the Mangawara stream at Hoe-o-Tainui this morning, the car falling into the creek below. Charles Hunt, of Valley Road, Mount Eden, who was in the seat, was unable to get out and was drowned. Mr. Johns and Alfred Hunt, a brother of Charles Hunt, managed to extricate themselves. They summoned help and recovered the body of Charles Hunt. Mr. Hunt was on his way to visit his son, who is a farmer at Ngongotahia, near Rotorua.
