CONCLUSION OF CIRCUIT HAWKE’S BAY WINTER RACING. REVIEW OF THE PROSPECTS.' (By “Hurry On.”) The Hawke’s Bay winter circuit will conclude to-day with the final day of the Napier Park Club’s meeting. The fields are fair and the racing should be interesting. The following horses may be fancied:— Waihiki Hurdles: Lady Spy, Million, Arctic Star. • Greenmeadows Hack Handicap: Passion Flower, Queen's Pride. Ladies’ Handicap: Gold Cure, The Grasper. Park Steeplechase: Dozie, Petrarch. Trial Plate: Sybil Song, Celerimus. Winter Oats:. Royal Bengal, Sunny Sky, Gold Mission. 'R. Brough has two chestnut fillies, one by .'Chief Ruler from the. Absurd—Amy•rin mare, Melissa, a racy looking filly, and the other by Colossus from the Chief-Ruler—Rosie Desmond mare, Just Sb. J. Fryer has a Captain Bunsby colt from the imported mare, Merry Twinkle, •one by Captain- Bunsby from Vivo and ; one by Matarma from Lady Colossus. Of the’ trio the one from Merry Twinkle appeals' most. -is a neat mover and the more, forward. The Vivo and Matarma youngsters are well grown and may take . a little; time; At present the three are being given road exercise. ’ J j; Brown has Notium, by Lysander the Martian mare, and a filly .by. Nigger .Minstrel from the Night Raid mare, -Slackline. The latter is a fine cut of a filly and appears to. have fully recovered from hex' accident. She is being worked round the roads preparatory to commencing track work. F. Ehorn has the Gay Shield—Persis colt- doing well ■ and he.' is • a shapely youngster- that looks sure to move fast. The latest to commence work is the ‘ Australian colt purchased by Mrs. W. D. -Graham which is under O.- Cox’s tuition. By the Hurry \On, horse Excitement from Glittering, a Saltash mare, he .has breeding and appearance to commend him. •

Notium is. the outstanding ypungster at present and gives the impression that he will take little time to be ready to'’race. Present intentions ’are to take him to Australia for the spring, two-year-old races ’ and he hds been nominated. .He has only to satisfy his connections during the next few wepks to decide the trip.

In place, of New Leaf, who has been turned out, W. Pprter has secured the Hunting Song—Heather Spray mare Kentuckey Song, formerly trained ip Hawkes Bay. She is a full relative to Lavington, who has been performing well in Australia this season.

Mr. W. Kirkland’s rising three-year-old filly, Link Divine, has developed splendidly and is doing a course of road exercise. It is. intended to take the filly to Australia when her owner can make arrangements for his own visit. Whenuakura has furnished into a magnificent horse and has settled down in his old quarters. He is being given J. Brown’s usual procedure of plenty of road work before' being taken near the tracks. * • ■ i
