OHURA GIRL GUIDES

GENERAL NEWS OF THE DISTRICT. The first of a series of fortnightly social and needlework evenings was held by the Ohura Girl Guides at the residence of Miss I. MacClure, president, on Monday .in -sewing and music. It was suggested that the guides have a stall for their work at the spring show and the evenings are to be spent in making articles for the stall St. Andrew’s vestry held a euchre party on Tuesday night. A good number attended. The winners were Mrs. Towler and Mr. R. Harris. Consolation prizes were allotted to Miss E. Woods and Mr. R. Rae. Mrs. Turnbull has returned to Ohura. Miss Margery Esdaill has returned home after a holiday in the South Island. Mrs. Brain has returned to Te Awamutu after spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs. Gee. Mrs. Wakefield senr. is a visitor to the west of Taranaki. , Mrs. Bunning and son -are the guests of Mrs. R. Esdaill.
