COMBINED DOUBLES CONTINUED.
LEAGUE CYCLING HANDICAPS. The Kaponga Tennis Club’s competitions have been continued during the past week or two, three more rounds in the combined doubles having been played. Results were:—
Third round: Bolger and Mrs. Bolger 51 v. Miss M. Keheley and J. Bolger 39, Miss L. Da’, les and H. Spence • 51 v. Miss’ Mary Malone and B. Hammersley 45, Miss S. Bertie and S. Palmer 51 v. Miss H. Guy and P. O’Donoghue 40, Miss Mary Malone and J. O’Sullivan beat Miss J. Bolger and A. B. Carroll by default, Court and Mrs. G. Court a bye. Fourth round: Miss Maggie Malone and J. O’Sullivan 51 v. Miss Mary Malone and B. Hammersley 45, Bolger a: Mrs. Bolger 51 v. Miss L. Davies and H. Spencer 50, Court and Mrs. G. Court 51 v. Miss S. Bertie and S. Palmer 50, Miss H. Guy and P. O’Donoghue a bye. Fifth round: Court and Mrs. G. Court 51 v. Bolger and Mrs. Bolger 49, Miss H. Guy and P. O’Donoghue won by default from Miss L. Davies ( and H. Spencer, Miss Maggie Malone and J. O’Sullivan a bye. . . , H. Spencer was unfortunate in twisting a knee .zhen playing and as a result is unable to take further part in the competition. It was the more unfortunate as he and his partner, Miss L. Davies, wereplaying well and appeared to possess a reasonable chance of success. There is one more game to be played to complete the fifth round, after which the finals will be decided. Handicaps for the Kaponga League Cycle Club’s opening race on Saturday at 2 o’clock to Mangatoki and back are: Coleman, Brewer, Wisnewski Im bohind, Edgecombe, Davies scr, Horgan, Drake, Young, Young Im, Wiliams, Maindonald 31m, Walker 4m, Briscoe, Butler, Lister 41m, Downer, Harding sm.
