DOGS AT TOKIRIMA
SUCCESS OF ANNUAL TRIALS. TWO EVENTS TO GOLDFINCH. The Tdkirima sheep dog trials were brought to a successful conclusion at the week-end. The weather was not very favourable on the second day, thunder frightening some of the dogs, who did not do their usual good work. The course was considered fairly good. The sheep used were good two-tooth wethers provided by Mr. A. Siteman. The judge was Mr. E. Forester, the clerk Mr. E. J. Ellis and the timekeeper Mr. F. Newman. Results are:—

Coogan; D. F. McLeod’s special, R. Coogan; A. Bennock’s special, Robin Turner; A. Sandiland’s cash prize, R. Coogan; E. V. Ellis’ special, A. Siteman; C. Little’s special, D. Wodlston; T. P. Davis’ special, Grey Siteman (youngest competitor); W. K. Williams’ special, H. Ritchie (oldest competitor); A. Goodwin’s special, AWoolston and D. Law equal (drawn in favour of D. Law); G. Gower’s special, P. J. Goldfinch; H. Grant’s special, E. Woolston. Presenting the trophies at the conclusion of the meeting, the president, Mr. A. Siteman, thanked all the competitors for their support, especially those from a distance, who had largely helped to make the trials a success. He also thanked the women who had successfully done the catpring. Mr. C. Howard was thanked for the use of his property where the trials were held, as was Mrs. Howard. A dance was held in' the evening, rain falling during the afternoon interfering with the attendance. Music was played by Mrs. Mcllroy’s band from Taumarunui. The doorkeeper was Mr. E. French and the master of ceremonies Mr. A. F. McKenzie.
