TARIKI ANZAC SERVICE

PERSONAL NEWS OF DISTRICT. The Tariki Church was filled for the Anzac Day service. Appropriate hymns were sung and the combined service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Blight (Methodist) and the Rev. Mr. Boyd-Bell (Anglican), the organist being Mr. Griffiths Jones. At the conclusion of the service the • congregation retired to the memorial, on which wreaths were placed. The Last Post was sounded and the returned soldiers and territorials marched to the Tariki hall, where a reunion luncheon was' provided by the Tariki Women’s Institute. Mrs. H. Knowles, oh behalf of the institute, welcomed all present. Mr. Blight was. chairman. . The programme consisted of: Community singing, songs by Mrs., Swanson and Mr. Blight and elocutionary items by Mrs. Buchanan, who was the accompanist. Thanks were expressed by Messrs. Blight, Boyd-Bell,' Buchanan, and W. Crowe. Mrs. H. Kerr, Surrey Road, who has been on a visit to Auckland as the guest of her sister, Miss Foster, has returned. Mr. W. O. Jones and family, New Plymouth, who visited Mrs. E. Jones, have returned. Mrs. Phillbrdw, Tauranga, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. S. Horsnell. Mrs. W. H. Kerr and Mr. L. Kerr, New Plymouth, were the guests of Mrs. E> 4 Jones during - Easter. ' . <.\
