GENERAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. The Upper Mangorei hall committee held the opening flag five-hundred evening of the season- on April 23. Those at the winning table were Mrs. A.’ Busing, and Messrs. S. Flay, G. Spencer and J. Pearce. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Pearce recently spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. G. Corkill, Pihama. Miss N. Lunn, New Plymouth, was the guest of Miss P. Wells last week. Miss M. A. Jones, Urenui, spent the week-end visiting friends in the district. Miss I. McAsey was the guest of Mrs. R. H. Balsom for a few days. Miss F. Jordan is staying with Mrs. C. Balsom. Miss V. Dryden was the guest of Miss M. Wood recently. Mr. L. Roberts is away on a shooting expedition in' the Wairarapa district. Miss M. Busing; Inglewood, is staying with Mr. and Mrs. A. Busing.
