ASSETS AND LIABILITIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. • A Gazette issued ' to-night contains a statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank as at the close of business on April 15. A comparison with April 8 is:— < Liabilities.

PRICES AT TAUMARUNUI. YOUNG CATTLE IN DEMAND. (Special to Daily News.) Taumarunui, April 16. Over 1000 head of cattle were yarded at to-day’s Taumarunui stock sale. Prices were on a par with those at recent sales. The demand for young well-bred cattle was good and. local farmers and outside buyers operated freely. There was a fair demand for conditioned cows, heifers and steers, and the majority of the cattle penned was quitted under the hammer at prices satisfactory to the vendors. Buyers were present from Raetihi, Ohakune, Ohura, Waitara, Te Kuiti and Hamilton. The following prices were obtained;— Cattle; Fat bullocks, £5 to £7 13s; fat cows, 30s to £5; store bullocks in forward condition, £3 15s to £5 ss; two-year-old steers, £3 10s to £4 10s; other steers or heifers, from £2 10s ‘to £3 10s; 18-months Black Polled steers, £2 10s to £4 7s; pedigree Black Polled cows with calves, £lO 10s to £l3 13s; run cows, 15s to £2; Black Polled cows, £2 to £3 6s; steer calves, 12s 6d to £2 6s; heiier calves, £1 to £1 9s; bulls, 35s to £3 7s Sheep: Fat lambs, 15s 3d; two-tooth wethers, 16s 4d. „ Pigs: POrkers, £1 to 275.
