EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. i The Warea Anglican Ladies’ Guild held a euchre party and dance on April 11. Music was played by Misses K. and N. Goodin. Mr. A. Sole was master of ceremonies. Messrs. H. Wells and W. Hanwright were in charge of the euchre games. The prizes were won by Mrs. Knight, Tataraimaka, and Mrs. R. Julian and Mrs. R Vannar (tie for second prize). Mr. R. Vannar and Mr. A. Harvey tied for the men’s first prize and divided the first and second. Travelling prizes were won by Mrs. J. Goodin and Miss J. Lewis. Prizewinners at euchre on Saturday night were Mr. C. W. Corbett and Miss M. Corbet. There were seven tables engaged, these in charge being Messrs G. C. Morey and H. Wells. Basketball Club. The annual meeting of the Warea Basketball Club was held on Saturday afternoon. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs. P. Chapman; vice-presidents, Mrs. E. Chapman and Miss J. Lewis; joint secretaries, Misses M. Julian and J. Corbett; committee, all members of the club; coach, Miss N. Wells; selectors, Mrs. P. Chapman and Miss N. Wells; delegates, Mrs. E. Chapman and Miss J. Lewis. Personal Items. Mr. and Mrs. E. Jefferey and Mrs. Jefferey are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Meier, Stent Road. Miss I. Corbett is spending a holiday at Hamilton. Anglican Parishioners. The annual meeting of parishioners of the Puniho-Warea district was held in
the Warea hall, Canon Newbold presiding over a fair attendance. Messrs. R. J. Bell, D. Wells, C. Corbett and one other to be chosen were appointed a committee to attend to church matters.
