KAPONGA FOOTBALL TOURNEY. ENTRIES CLOSING TO-MORROW. Entries close to-morrow for the Kaponga football tournament for seven-a-side teams on Easter Saturday, April 2 This is the fifteenth year of the fixture and good entries are again assured from all the leading Taranaki football clubs Entries are also expected from several teams outside Taranaki. Each year these have added great interest to the competition. Last year’s winner was Clifton, previous winners being Star, Athletic. Masterton, Carterton, Star, Napier Tukapa, Kaponga, Jolls and Petone. The trophy is a silver shield presented by Mr. A. O. Casey and the Hoc'kin Cup for the runner-up. It is usual to present a gold medal to each member of the winning team, but this year the individual trophy will take the form of s small silver football on a pedestal, making a suitable ornament for a .mantelpiece. Entries are being received by Mr. A. Melville, Kaponga.
