CARS IN COLLISION

ACCIDENT AT INTERSECTION. DAMAGE CAUSED TO FENCE. Buckled mudguards and a damaged concrete fence resulted when two cars collided at the of Hobson and Devon streets, New Plymouth at midnight on Saturday. No personal injuries were caused. A car driven by Mr. Terrence H. O’Carroll, slaughterman, Waitara, had been driven along Hobson Street from the sea and was turning into Devon Street when a collision occurred with a car driven in the direction of Fitzroy by Mr. Joseph F. Drinkwater jnr., Egmont Village. Slewing to the right after the impact Mr. Drinkwater’s car mounted the kerbing and crashed into a concrete fence bordering the property occupied by Mr. J. F. Crothers. A portion of the wall; which was of concrete blocks, was damaged. The car was badly battered in front, while the left fore mudguard was buckled as a result of the impact. The car driven by Mr. O’Carroll was dented along the right hand side, the mudguard and running board suffering.
