CABINET CONSIDERATION MR. MCDONALD’S LETTER FULL DETAILS WANTED “NEW DEAL” FOR ENGLAND By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.30 p.m. London, March 2. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald has sent a letter to Mr. Lloyd George inviting him to submit to the Government estimates and calculations of the latter’s “new deal’’ proposals, promising immediate and careful consideration. The letter refers to Mr. Lloyd George’s complaint that although the Government ' promised careful inquiry, he had not yet been asked to submit his plans, Mr. MacDonald explained that Mr. Lloyd George on January 17 said he was only outlining his ideas, which he hoped to develop in a series of speeches, upon which Mr. Neville Chamberlain stated that the plan would be considered when the speeches were completed. “I am glad to learn from a newspaper article,” wrote Mr. MacDonald, “that although your speeches are incomplete you have forked out a detailed scheme, in conjunction with experts, which you are willing to submit to the Government, As the Government will presently be considering proposals for pubuc works it would welcome further suggestions. Mr. Lloyd George immediately telephoned his compliance. He stated he was consulting experts to discover any S further additions in view of suggestions and criticisms made since his plan was drawn up. Mr. MacDonald would get a letter either on Saturday or on Monday. He hoped Cabinet and not merely officials would examine the scheme.
