NEW PLYMOUTH PROMOTIONS.

DETECTIVE MEIKLEJOHN MOVING.

Members of the New Plymouth Police Force figure in recent promotions and transfers. Detective A. B. MeUdejohn has been promoted to the rank of detec-tive-sergeant and transferred to Auckland. Constable King, Strandon, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to Christchurch. Detective Meiklejohn, who joined the force at Wellington in 1916, has been in charge , of the detectives’ office at New Plymouth for more than nine years. He was transferred to the detectives’ office at Auckland in 1920, and after five years service was transferred to take charge at New Plymouth, where he proved an efficient officer. . Coming to New Plymouth from Taihape, Constable King has been in charge at Strandon for the past six years. A Press Association message from Auckland announces the promotion of Detective J. Walsh, Wanganui, to the rank of detective-sergeant at Auckland. A Wellington message states that Constable James Scarry, Moera, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and will be replaced at Roera by Constable J. J. Culesty. Constable V. Cosgrove, Hunterville, has been made a. sergeant and transferred to Wellington. He will be succeeded at Huntesville by Constable W. J. Brown (Wellington).
