REQUEST FOR HELP
REPAIRING FLOOD DAMAGE. ACTION BY THE GOVERNMENT. The action of the Government as the result of applications from Taranaki for assistance fa repairing flppd damage was described by foe Hon. S, Smith over foe long-distance telephone last night. Mr. Smith said foe Govei-nment was obtaining reports from its expert engineers, and when these were in hand consideration would be given to the applications for financial aid.
