REPAIRS TO DUNEDIN

WEAR IN PROPELLER BRACKET. RECURRENCE OF TROUBLES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 23. Wear in part of an “A bracket” supporting the starboard propeller tailshaft of H.M.S. Dimedin has necessitated repairs which are now in progress. The work involves the fitting of new liners in the bearing of the bracket and is expected to occupy a fortnight. The need for repair was anticipated and allowance was made for it when th'e cruiser docked on February 11 as part of her biennial refit. The trouble is the fourth similar defect, found in the “A brackets” of the Dunedin and Diomede in the past year.
