NEW HEADQUARTERS
ROYAL EMPIRE SOCIETY, LONDON. X BUILDING ABOUT TO COMMENCE. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Jan. 14. Building operations will begin within the next few weeks for the erection, on a 12 000 square feet site in Northumberland Avenue, London, of a £300,000 building to "serve as headquarters for the Royal Empire Society, which has over 16,000 members, A dining hall to seat 300 and an assembly hall for lectures and discussions will be features of the new building, which will contain 60 bedrooms.
