BELL BLOCK JUBILEE
LIST OF OLD PUPILS GROWING. LARGE MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. Further arrangements for the Bell Block school jubilee in March were made at a largely attended meeting of the executive last night. Mr. L. J. Rundle presided, in the temporary absence of Mr. C. McDonald, over an attendance of nearly 30. It was decided to hold two euchre parties and dances, the first at the end of the month and the second a fortnight later, proceeds of the first to go to the funds of the old girls’ reunion and the second to the general fund. On the motion of Mr. Rundle it was decided to hand the compiled early history of the school and the district to the Press. The secretary, Mr. J. Bethell, reported on the response to the inquiries for the addresses of old pupils and asked the executive to make as sure as was possible that all old pupils overlooked applied for invitations. He also asked for the loan of photographs of early pupils, buildings, and scenes of the district to make a good display. Letters had been received from many old pupils stating that no invitations had been received, said Mr. Bethell. The trouble was that the executive had an almost complete list of names, but lacked many addresses. He asked those present to make it known that old pupils who had not received invitations were nevertheless welcome. As indicating the manner in which former scholars had spread, Mr. Bethell said he had received many letters asking for invitations to be sent to old pupils overseas. At least six invitations had been sent to America, and one to France, and it was expected the recipients of at least one or two of these would be present. The executive agreed to do everything possible to ensure an invitation being sent to everyone entitled to receive .one;
