THEFT ALLEGED
CHARGE AGAINST EX-SOLICITOR. CASE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. . By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Nov. 30. Before justices of the peace Allan James McLeavey, aged .33,. formerly a practising solicitor, was charged that on May 11, 1932, and on divers dates between then ®nd September 30, 1933, at Palmerston North, he committed the theft of £942, the property of the estate of the late W. L. Child. Also, that on November 21, 1933, and on divers dates between then and July, 1934, having received £93 on terms requiring him to account for it to George Arthur Wilton, he fraudulently omitted to do so, thereby committing theft. Accused pleaded not guilty to both charges. : After evidence "vas heard on the first charge accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial to the Supreme Court; On ! the second charge a remand was granted.
