FINE WEATHER
MILDER TEMPERATURES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Some scattered rain is still likely in the northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island, says the 4 p.m. forecast, but the weather will shortly be improving. Elsewhere it will be fine. Temperatures are becoming gradually milder. Variable winds with light to moderate easterlies and south-easterlies predominating are predicted, Seas in New Zealand waters will be rather rough north of East Cape, but elsewhere smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tasman Sea moderate to fresh south-easterly winds in the northern portion and light variable winds in the southern portion are expected with smooth to moderate seas. The pressure is still fairly high over the Tasman Sea and the greater part of New Zealand but a slight depression is now passing in the far north.
