CHALLENGE FOR AMERICA CUP
ENDEAVOUR AN ALL-STEEL YACHT ATTEMPT BY MR. T. SOPWITH. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, Oct. 17. Mr. Thomas Sopwith has issued a challenge for the American Cup with the new all-steel yacht Endeavour. A New York message states that a formal challenge for the America Cup had not been received on Tuesday by the New York Yacht Club. If the practice of other years is followed various syndicates will be formed to build yachts and the defender will be selected after a series of elimination races.
