CURRENCY REFORM DEMAND

LABOUR PARTY VIEWPOINT UNBIASSED INVESTIGATION ASKED By Telegraph—Press 'Association. , Auckland, Aug. 31. The deputy-leader of the Labour Party, Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P., in the course of a policy address in the Town Hall last night, said that some people thought there should be an investigation of the present currency and banking system, but Labour was not prepared to allow those who were charged with failure to constitute the investigation tribunal. He suggested that those who were working for currency reform should see that there were no divisions in their ranks when it came to the general election. There had been many kinds of red herrings thrown across the path in the past. Currency reform supporters could not do better than to support, the party which had and still stood for currency reform, and already had 24 members in the House, not including Lyttelton, which looked a certainty for Labour.
