EARTHQUAKE RECORDED

BIGGEST FOR MANY MONTHS. NORTHERN PACIFIC SHAKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Aug. 30. The seismological instruments at the Dominion observatory were kept busy yesterday for three hours recording a big earthquake. It began at 10.1 a.m. New Zealand time, the centre being located about 5200 miles from Wellington, probably somewhere in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. It was the biggest earthquake recorded for many months.
