TO ASSIST SEAMEN’S REST

CONCERT AT WHITELEY HALL. A. successful concert in aid of the funds of the Seamen’s Rest at New Plymouth was held at. Whiteley Hall last night. There was a good attendance of the public, the chair being taken by the Rev. F. Copeland. During an interval Mr. Copeland conrratulated the committee on the work it was doing. Between 800 and 1000 visits had been paid to the rest by seamen during the last-month. The'entertainment was primarily for the repair of the billiard table but books and periodicals were also required for the library; The programme was:—Piano solo, Mrs. Diprose; song, Miss I.
