PROFIT OF £576 SHOWN

LAST NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW. Palmerston N., July 18. A profit of £576 Ils lOd on the recent National Dairy Show was reported by the treasurer, Mr. T. R. Hodder, at this morning’s meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association. The profit on last year’s fixture was £307 15s lOd. Mr. Hodder said the receipts had decreased by £396 15s Id, but this amount had been made up by the large decrease in expenditure. The expenditure for tile show had been £13,061 6s Id. Mr. Hodder said the profit this year had been made by reductions in expenditure. “The report shows a satisfactory position indeed,” said Mr. Hodder. “Although we made a profit, it will be more than absorbed at the spring show, which is always more expensive to conduct. It behoves us not to run away with the idea that we are making money. It is more than likely that this money will be lost at the next show. We will have to endeavour to keep down our expenditure for the spring show as we did for the recent winter show.

“The whole saving has been made practicable by each member of the committee studying the finances of the association,” said the president, Mr, D. Buchanan.
