LATE SIR CHARLES SKERRETT. BENEFIT OF EDUCATION. Wellington, July 16. The late Sir Charles Perrin Skerrett, former Chief Justice, by his will set aside a portion of his estate with direc-' tions to . the trustees to invest it and, subject to certain directions, to apply the income to such educational charities in New Zealand as they might think fit. At a meeting of the trustees, Mr. H. F. Johnston, K.C., Mr. D. G. A. Cooper and Mr. L. H. Tripp, the sixth half-yearly allocation of income was made as follows:—New Zealand Institute for the Blind, Wellington Free Kindergarten Association, Salvation Army, Anglican Boys’ Home, Lower Hutt, St. Mary’s Home, .Karori, Seatoun Boys’ Preparatory College, Upper Hutt Girls’ Convent, Palmerston North Convent, Marist Brothers’ Primary. School, Hawkestone Street, Wellington, £lO each; Hastings Convent, Napier Convent, £25 each; St. Anne’s Primary School, £lO.
