TIKORANGI DISTRICT NEWS
WIN IN CARD TOURNEY. Lepperton defeated Tikorangi by 41 to 40 in cribbage and euchre games played last week at Tikorangi. The scores were: Euchre, Lepperton 21, Tikorangi 15; cribbage, Lepperton 20, Tikorangi 15. Local Music Successes. Iris Sarten secured a pass and Jean Garner a pass with distinction in the music examinations conducted recently at the residence of Mrs. Midldeton. Schools Meet in Sport. Tikorangi in a schools Rugby match defeated Hillsborough by 9 .points to nil. At basketball Hillsborough won by 11 to 5. R. Hills, R. Davis and J. Garner scored the tries in the Rugby game. The matches were played at Tikorangi. A large number of members of the Tikorangi Women’s Institute attended the Brixton Women’s Division’s first birthday celebrations on Wednesday, and on Thursday attended the Lepperton Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union third birthday party.
Personal Items. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sarten visited Wellington for the Trentham races. Miss L. Pruden has returned from Te Popo. Miss L. Fletcher, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. A. O. Whitehead.
