ONIONS FOR AMERICA
dominion vegetable trade SUCCESS OF NEGOTIATIONS. SAME SYSTEM AS FOR FRUIT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night "As an outcome of negotiations with the United States Government it is now clear that vegetables, including onions, can be exported from New Zealand to the United States under permit,” said the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. C. E. Macmillan) to-night. “As in the case of fruit,” the Minister added, “permits are granted in the United States to the importer. The present import duty is. two and a-half cents a pound.”
