LAP RECORD TROPHY AWARDED.

PRESENTED TO MR. J. FENTON.

The presentation of the lap record cup donated by Mr. H. H. Moller was made to Mr. J. Fenton, of the North Taranaki Motor-Cycle Club, at the annual reunion of the club. The cup was won by Mr. Fenton at the motor-cycle sports meeting held at the New Plymouth aerodrome during the past season. In . making, the presentation Mr. W. Yeates, secretary of the club, referred’ to the good performances put up during the season by Mr. Fenton, who won several cups and in adidtion the New Zealand lightweight championship for grass track racing at Claudelands. His win was all the more meritorious as Mr. Fenton was still a young rider and would attain his majority only at the end of the present month. In a brief reply Mr. Fenton said someone had to win and he had been fortunate so far. Motor-cycle racing was a great sport and was full of the best spoilsmen. Others who rendered items later in the evening were Messrs. O. Toms and J. Jury (steel guitars).
