PATEA SOCIAL NEWS. Miss Holtham, who has been on a visit to Wellington, has returned. Miss Gibson, Eltham, who has been Hie guest of Mrs. Hall, “Shasta Knoll,” Kakaramea, is staying at Patea and is the guest of Mrs. E. Harris. Mrs. A. Hellier has returned from Palmerston North.
Mrs. W. Kaye, president of the Taranaki Federation of Women’s Institutes, is the guest of Mrs. M. A. Pearce, Whenuakura.
Mrs. C. Thompson, Auckland, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Ramsbottom.
Mrs. W. P. Paterson was hostess at a bridge afternoon and Miss Kelly hostess at an “at home” at which Mrs. H. B. Goertz, Ashhurst, was the guest of honour, this week. Mrs. R. M. Stevens has returned from a holiday trip in the Auckland district. Miss Naomi Fowler, who has been visiting Auckland, has returned home. Miss Knowles, who has been the guest of Mrs. E. Harris, has returned to Hawera.
The coming-of-age of Miss Ruby Harris was celebrated by a large number of friends at a surprise party at her parents’ home early this week, j Mrs. G. Gower, Kohuratahi, left on Wednesday for the Waikato, where she will spend a few weeks with her father. Her sister, Miss L. Lee, who has been spending some months at Kohuratahi, also returned to Waikato.
