BALL AT TONGAPORUTU.

DANCE PRIZES AND DRESSES. The Okau Football Club held a very successful ball in the Tongaporutu hall on Wednesday evening. A large number of dancers attended, including visitors from 'Urenui, Uruiti, Mokau and Awakino. The hall was attractively decorated with nikau palms and red and white streamers. The initials of the club were formed of white and red camellias and displayed above the platform. Music was supplied by Edwin's orchestra and extras were played by Miss I. Hansen, Mokau, Miss E. O’Sullivan; Mount Messenger, and Miss Handley, Urenui. Prizes were won by the following: Monte Carlo waltz, Mr. and Mrs. Henderson, Tongaporutu; spot waltz, Miss Russell and Mr. W. Taylor, Te Kawa; waltzing competition, Mr. and Miss O’Sullivan.

A euchre match for non-dancers was played in the supper room, the winners being Miss Lambert, Urenui and Mr. F. Cosebrook first, Mrs. Gibbs, Tongaporutu, and Mr. N. Crudis, second. Consolation prizes went to Mrs. Welch, Te Kawa, and Mr. P. Lake. Among those present were Mesdames F. Webb, water green satin; Blanche, black crepe de chine; F. Mcßae, apricot crepe satin and cape; I. Hansen,' phlox pink georgette; O’Sullivan, black crepe de chine with floral bridge coat; G. Southcott, rose pink corded velvet, bridge coat to tone; Kennell, pink satin; Love, apple green georgette; Northern, floral ninon; G. Ericcson, black satin; I. Rowe, ivory satin; M. Condon, black satin; I. Pratt, coral pink georgette; D. Jolmson, apricot satin; E. Kenric, blue satin; M. Carr, ivory satin; Welch, black taffetas; M. Welch, lemon satin; P.
