POWERS OF SUPPRESSION. Calcutta, July 6. Amendments to the Rangoon . Police Bill by foe Government of Burma have given power to deal effectively with “the stream of mechanical noises of considerable volume which is poured on to streets in the early morning.” •It is made a penal offence by foe Bill to use dangerous weapons when participating in rioting. Among the “dangerous weapons” named are bottles and motor-car crank handles.
