FARCICAL TITLE BOXING

BRITISH HOLDER WINS ON FOUL. 45,000 SEE THREE-MINUTE BOUT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright London, July 12. Jack Boyle was disqualified in the second round of the heavyweight championship match against the holder, Jack Petersen, for hitting low. The 45,000 present in the open air at the White City saw a farcical contest lasting three and a-half minutes for which each contestant received £5OOO. Both were severely cautioned for clinching. Boyle, after shaking Petersen, threw all caution to the winds and dealt many foul blows, whereupon the referee, who had already shown great leniency, disqualified him.
