VARSITY BOWLING ATTACKED.

Seven members of the M.C.C., including Lord Suffield and Sir Home Gordon, in a joint letter support the Times’ cricket writer in criticism of the deadly dull leg-theory in the University match. The paper adds: “We regret that the tactics seem to savour of those employed in the Australian tests, which destroy the whole charm, spirit and enjoyment of the game.”
