SCHOOL SUCCESS AT SHOW. At the monthly meeting of the Norfolk school committee Mr. J. presided. The head teacher (Mrs. Whitaker) reported that on .the advice of the medical' officer one pupil had been sent to the health camp at Otaki. The dental nurse had also visited the school. The head- teacher, the assistant (Miss Leech) and the children were congratulated on their success at the New Plymouth show, 66 awards having been credited vO the school. A vote of appreciation was accorded Mrs. L. Brown for her assurance at school entertainments. Mr. and Mrs. S. Walker were thanked for the use or their piano at Rugby Road entertainments. It was decided to make application to the Education Board for a new floor. Success at Basketball.
The Egmont Village school basketball and Rugby teams played Norfolk on Friday. Norfolk won the Rugby by a points to 3 ' and the basketball 1 by 13 points to 4. Miss M. Comey refereed the basketball. By winning this match the school basketball team and Egmont Village are even in their division. They will play off at the Inglewood courts today. ' ' . . ~ . Norfolk is entering a team in the ten-a-side tournament at Inglewood to-mor-Mr. Gordon Gyde is an inmate of the New Plymouth hospital and is making satisfactory progress. Mr. J. Reeve is progressing favourably.
