FIRST -ROUNDS FOR TROPHIES. The first rounds of the president’s cup for men and , Mr. Martin’s cup for ladies were played by the Matiere Golf Club during the past week, and some very good cards were handed in. Following are the results:— ;

Taylor 79, Miss L. Kelly 85, Mrs. H. Gibson 85, Mrs. F. Sowry, to play. Men: J. V. Ross 64, G. Goldring 69, F. H. Sowry 73, A. V. Ross 74, H. Stoddart 75, G. Baker 77, G. Kelly 77, J. Turner 77, T. H. Turner 81, M. Sowry 83, W. Baker 84, A. L. Ross 93, R. W. Alanson 94, T. Kelly 95, H. Gibson 101. A competition day was held on the links on Sunday. Luncheon was served by the ladies, and although the weather was unfavourable an enjoyable day was spent. Following are the results of the competitions:— Flag match for Mr. Stoddart’s trophy: Mrs. G.
