SKIMMING STATION. Workmen are busily engaged in erecting a temporary skimming station on the old Frankley dairy factory site. It Is hoped to have it ready for use next week. Hall Society’s Good Position. Ths eleventh annual meeting of the Hurworth Hall Society was held in the hall on Monday evening. There was a poor attendance. Mr. H. Farmer presided. ■ , The balance-sheet showed assets to exced liabilities by £416 6s 7d, with a bank overdraft of £62 13s sd. For the past year £56 9s 6d had been taken for hall hire. The general and euchre parties’ expenses accounts' amounted to £4O 3s, leaving a credit of £l6 6s 6d. The auditor’s report was favourable. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the ladies. ■ The following committee was elected. President, Mr. H. Farmer; vice-president, Mr. F. Salisbury; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. F. Allan; general committee, Mesdames Allan, Farmer, P. Gilbert and Salisbury, Messrs. H. Allan, F. Balter, P. Gilbert, R. Gilbert, R. Smith. E. Lovegrove, A.'Rider and J. Elliot; auditor, Mr. J. Garcia. Fortnightly Euchre. The Frankley Road School Committee held its fortnightly euchre _ party on Tuesday evening. The prize-winners were Mrs. Tippins 1, Mrs. N. Allen (after playing off with Mrs. McGiven) 2 Miss T. Goodacre consolation; Messrs. Anderson 1, Allen 2, and Hayes consolation. The ladies’ first prize was given by Mr. Allen. Supper was served. To Entertain Harriers. - The Hurworth ladies will entertain the New Plymouth Harrier Club in the Hurworth hall on Saturday. Personal Items. Mrs. H. Card, Frankleigli Park, is an inmate of the New Plymouth hospital. Mr. and Mrs. A. Goodwin are visiting Mrs. Goodwin’s mother, Mrs. Farnham, Frankley Road. They leave for their new home at Huirangi next week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Burkett, Stratford, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Burkett, Frankley Road. They will take up residence on Upper Carrington Road next week. . Mrs. P. Earp and family are visiting Mrs. Whittle. Mrs. A.: P. Lister, Frankley Road, acted as .judge for jams, pickles, preserves and home cookery at the recent Stratford show.
