Mr. J. Templeton has been appointed by the Egmont County Council a member of the Pihama Cemetery Board in succession to Mr. J. D. Conaglen, who has resigned.
Mr. A. T. Wells, receiver of the Mental Hospitals Department, Wellington, is visiting New Plymouth on departmental business.
Mr. W. C. Green, Rahotu, left yesterday afternoon for Wellington to attend a meeting of the Dairy Produce Board to-day.
Mr. J. H. Henry Will act as senior inspector of schools in' Taranaki during the absence of Mr. A. Bain, who is m the New Plymouth hospital as a result of an injury to his leg received at Opunake. Mr. T. J. Griffin, lately senior inspector at Nelson, and before that, an inspector in Taranaki, has been appointed temporarily to the inspectorial staff. Sir Henry Chilton, British Ambassador at Santiago, has been appointed in succession to Sir Ronald Macleay, who is shortly to retire from the post of Ambassador in Buenos Aires, says a British Official Wireless message.
