RATAPIKO NEWS

SUCCESSFUL DANCE. The Ratapiko Football Club held a successful dance in the Ratapiko hall on Tuesday night. Visitors were present from all the surrounding districts and a happy time was spent dancing to music supplied by the 1 Adelphi Dance Band. The hall was gaily decked with the green and gold club colours and large sprays of bamboo grass were arranged across the back of the stage. The letters R.F.C. were carried out in coloured paper across one side of the hall. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss D. James and Mr. J. Duncan. Mr. J. Lepper controlled the euchre tournament and the winners were Mrs.. Adlam and Mr. F. Lawrence. Competitions were won by Miss D. James and Mr. S. Green. Mr. D. Therkleson and Mr. A. Martin were the masters of ceremonies and Mr. W. Wells carried out the secretarial duties. Personal and General. Miss Lavery, Hawera, is staying with Mr. and Mrs. D. Mannix, Mana Road. Mr. and Mrs. T. Kelly, and Mr. FryerRaisher spent the week-end at Hawera. Mr. Moorby, Okato, has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. E. Grigg. _ . The executive of the Women’s Division met at Mrs. G. Hucker's residence on Thursday. The tennis club has been busy preparing the ground for tennis courts at Ratapiko. All the earthwork has been completed and the club hopes to have the courts ready for the first of the season.
