DISASTROUS CLOUD BURST

20 DROWNED IN COLORADO.

SMALL TOWNS DEVASTATED.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Vancouver, July 9.

Twenty were drowned and damage to the extent of about £200,000 was caused when cloudbursts devastated the towns of Idledale and Morrison in Colorado. A twenty-foot wall of water rushed down Bear Creek Canyon and swept seven motor-cars loaded with holiday-makers over the banks. Half of Morrison was wiped out, and not a single house is left in Starbuck village. A similar flood in 1896 resulted in the loss of 28 lives.
