Davey) presiding over a good attendance, , Dealing with the matter of prizes in the 1 butter and cheese division at the show, i two Auckland firms wrote stating that they would donate £lO and £lO 10s re- ’ spectively, and in the cheese section a ’ gold medal was offered by a Wanganui firm. The donations were accepted with i thanks. Following on the consideration of sevi eral quotations for pens in the poultry section, it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the poultry committee. New members elected were Messrs. V. . J. Henderson, M. Urquhart and C. H. l Wickstead. The executive acceeded to the request I of the Taranaki Rabbit Breeders’ Associa- , tion by making an alteration in the rabj bit wool class with a view to increasing the number of entries. t The Minorca Club (Hawera) wrote stati Ing that their cups were to be competed i for at the Stratford show this year, a . silver cup valued at £lO 10s for the best i bird in the Utility Minorca section and s one valued at £5 5s for the best bird of opposite sex to the winners, and re- : quested that particulars enclosed with > the letter be included in the schedule. • The club’s ribbons were to go to the ' most successful competitors. The cups > were to be won three times in succession or four times at intervals before they ■ became the property of the winners. The birds were to be judged under the ! Dominion of New Zealand Utility Poul- • try standard. ’ The secretary was instructed to write to Mr. A. W. Reid conveying the as- ' sociation’s appreciation of his donation ‘ last year of four silver cups for competition at the show. The question was which court had the right J of recognition, both having entered for the show. As a member of the original court, Mr. R. V. Wellington said they J' had won the shield in 1932. J It was finally decided that the executive ’ accept the entry of the present holders . of the shield in the Wharehuia district, they being the elected representatives of t the district, and recognised such as the official entry for the district. A further resolution was that the Wharehuia No. . 2 entry be returned with the explanation that only one entry could be received from one district. t A vote of condolence was passed with t Mr. G. T.
