WORLD WHEAT CONFERENCE

WILLINGNESS OF UNITED STATES. REPLY TO LEAGUE OF NATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Washington, April 28. The Government. lias informed the League of Nations of its willingness to be represented at an international wheat “conference about' the middle of May, probably at Geneva. The message was sent following the receipt of an inquiry from the League as to the United States’ attitude such-an idea, ■ Similar communications have been gent by the League to Canada, Argentina and Australia. The announcement was made here as President Roosevelt was entering upon a thorough discussion with Mr. R. B. Bennett, Prime Minister of Canada, at White House, on means of improving the world wheat situation. The conversations which President Roosevelt has been holding with the representatives of other Governments came to an end temporarily on Friday, when he bade Mr. Bennett good-bye on the steps of White House executive offices.
