ESPIONAGE CHARGES MADE
JAPANESE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA. FLAT DENIAL GIVEN BY LEGATION. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. ’ Rec. 6.35 p.m. Ottawa, April 29. Charges made by Mr. Tom Reid, member for New Westminster, in the House of Commons that Japanese naval officers under the guise of fishermen were spying out British Columbia are discounted by marine workers. Hundreds of Japanese fishermen are there who know every bay of the coast. The Japanese legation has flatly denied Mr. Reid’s charges and announced that Mr. Reid’s statements are being forwarded to Tokio.
