FUNDS FROM POPPY DAY

EXPECTED TO REACH £5OO. SOME RETURNS STILL TO COME. The attainment of a sum of £5OO in the Poppy Day appeal is confidently anticipated by Mrs. R. H. Quilliam, who organised the New Plymouth and district collection. The addition of the Savings Bank’s gift of £5O brought the fund to £487 2s, and as there is advice yet to come from some country districtc, and that from others has been conservatively estimated, Mrs. Quilliam does not consider there will be any difficulty in reaching the £5OO mark. This figure is all the more satisfactory when it is realised that the Opunake district collection was not this year, as formerly, added to the New Plymouth collection.
